Tips for Selling your House
Imagine walking into a house and as soon as you walk through the front door, the sweet gooey smell of Sticky Toffee Pudding just hits you straight away, or maybe you want to move away from the food smells, clean, fresh scents suggest the home is well-maintained. Doesnt it smell lovely!
Now think about how that would effect someone who is coming to view your home. The smell of a house plays a crucial role in the selling process. Smells create first impressions for potential buyers. Scents can make a home feel welcoming, homely and comfortable.
However alternatively, (I can tell you from recent experience) if the house has an unpleasant smell, this can be immediately off-putting and can outweigh any other positive aspects of the house. I recently went to view a house that I loved in pictures; however, as soon as I walked through the door, the smell of pets was so overwhelming that I couldn’t concentrate or enjoy the rest of the house. Had that smell not been there, there is probably a good chance i would have considered buying the house. It can literally make or break their decision!!
As we all know, smell is strongly linked to memory and emotion, a pleasant-smelling home can evoke positive feelings and memories.
Which scents are more likely to sell my house?
Common pleasant scents include Vanilla, Citrus, and Fresh scents. Here at ScentedBoutique, we have a whole range of Citrus, Fresh or even Bakery wax melts. If you have a wax melt warmer, you could put a wax on – an easy and cheap way to scent your home.
